The book cover for YA novel 'Life on Hold' is ready for show. Yeah!

Whew! I was afraid I'd never decide what to do as cover art for Beverly Stowe McClure's Life on Hold. This YA novel is so dramatically different than the first one I did for her, Just Breeze, that I was at a loss as to how to portray the story as a whole without giving too much away. Then it hit me.

Here is the back cover blurb:

4RV Publishing
A paper found.
A secret revealed.
A girl's life changed forever.

Myra Gibson's life is a lie. For sixteen years her parents have kept their secret, but the adoption paper she discovers while cleaning the guesthouse tells the truth. As the past and present collide, Myra begins a journey she may regret.

I love my work!

I'll let you know when it's ready for pre-orders.

Share this post on Facebook and Twitter, or even grab it for your blog, if you like (buttons are below). There are also descriptive buttons, for fun.

Until next time...

  4. Thanks, Magento. And you are correct, statistics prove that people DO judge a book by it's cover.

70% of all book sales are attributed to the cover. That's a huge responsibility on the artist. It can make or break a book's chances of being picked up, turned over (for the blurb), and thumbed through, with the author's hook (the words), making the final catch.

But without the right bait ... no fish.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  11. Thanks, Margaret. I think Bev and I make a pretty decent mix. This is my second cover for her, and it looks like it's going to be just as popular as the 'Just Breeze' cover.

Thanks, O. I do work for 4RV as their Art Director & VP of Operations, but I also work freelance. But you're right, Viv has me for life .. lol.

Thank you, Beth. We should team up soon, ourselves, which is very possible, since you're part of the 4RV family.

Thank you all for stopping by and leaving comments.
