Cover art & design for 'Empyreal Fate' is ready for it's close-up!

I make it no secret that my favorite genre is fantasy (though I love good books in general), and elves are at the heart of it! So I'm excited to announce that 4RV Publishing is in the midst of prepping it's first truly fantasy, full length novel, A Llathalan Annal: Empyreal Fate, by Rachel Hunter.

Since it's still in editing, Rachel provided me with some great character details that helped in the creation of the cover art. At first, I had some details a bit askew, but I'll cover that topic in Friday's article on the 4RV News blog. Don't worry though, I'll be sure to post a snippet here, so you can get to read it.

I just received the back cover blurb. Keep in mind, this may get edite before all is said and done, too, bt it gives you a tease. Check it out:

Filled to the brim with forbidden love, an ancient evil, and a nation in disrepair, Empyreal Fate is a tale of riveting bravery and mortal corruption.

The land of Llathala lingers on the brink of war between men and elves, a dark history surrounding each race. Stirred by tensions of the land, a shadow of the past reemerges, taking precedence in reality and consuming the very soul of mans’ mortal weakness. Darrion, the son of a poor laborer, is ensnared in a hostile world, forced to choose between loyalty to his king or the counsel of the elves. Yet Fate has other plans in store, tying his course to Amarya, an elven royalblood of mysterious quality and unsurpassable beauty. But this forbidden connection incites betrayal from members of their own kin, marking them as traitors to the crown. In a land torn asunder, only Fate’s decree can allow such love to coexist with an ancient enmity.

Behold: A Llathalan Annal: Empyreal Fate – Part One.

In the meantime, give me your thoughts on my latest cover creation.

Enlargements (and the first draft), can be seen on my website's Fantasy Illustration & Beyond page.

Until next time...

  1. Excellent cover. The blurb for the back cover will need to be a bit shorter, but otherwise it's right on.

  2. I figured as much. That's why I said it would probably be edited.

  4. Lol. Rachel, I had to look up your profile to see that 'Life Defined' is you ... lol.

Sweetie, you're about to be a published author. You need to remember to sign you comments ... lol.

And by the way, you are quite welcome, but I am the one who needs to thank you. I have been wanting somebody, anybody, to submit fantasy to 4RV for three years, now ... lol.

I'm glad your with us and I get to be your cover artist.

So when are you submitting part 2 of the series?

  5. The blurb creates a picture in my head...and it tells the tale. Some lines should be off...May be 4RV wanted it that way. This book will likely be a bestseller!

  6. As I mentioned in the post, Omoruyi, the blurb will be edited as well as the book. This is just the author's submitted blurb. Once edited, I'll replace this version with the new one.

And of course, we always hope for bestsellers ... lol.
