I don't do abstracts often. As a matter of fact, they are somewhat accidental. They occur randomly as I am creating a digital painting. My computer freaks for a moment, messes with my colors, and if I'm fast enough, I can save the effect before the computer rights itself.
I always find it cool when it happens, because the effect is totally un-repeatable and random. Plus, the visual allows me to see the true image I am working on in a whole new way.
What creative surprises do you find cool in your craft? Do you allow your work to take on a life of it's own and not treat random surprises as 'flawed' works, or do you present them as unintended masterpieces? Do you continually learn new techniques, maybe through online universities or other classes?
Myself, I prefer to accept these glitches and have created a gallery specifically for them in my ImageKind gallery and in my Zazzle shoppe.
Until next time...
