I just love hearing about one of my book covers being seen in the media. :D
Brenda Wynn, author of Silverdream & Bloodfire, shared the above image with me yesterday. It's a scan of the newspaper article, in The Enterprise, featuring her book and my cover art. I don't know if you'll be able to see what it says or not, but I am hoping if you click on the image, it will blow up big enough to be read.
Basically, the story is about a disabled college student who finds her way into an alternate world and reality, one in which dragons exist and she is no longer disabled. A prince from that world is transported to her world, as well, suddenly having to deal with her disability, himself.
To the left you can see the cover a little better, in full color. Brenda provided a rough sketch giving me a good idea as to what she envisioned for the cover, such as the dragon's specific color scheme and the MC's clothing. We discussed the character's emotion, too. Was she scared to be flying so high on a fierce dragon, especially since she is confined to a wheelchair in her world and can't even walk, much less fly? I wanted to be sure to capture the proper expression and gesture.
I am hoping to have spare copies (hopefully signed) at MidSouthCon XXX this coming March, where I am a guest artist and will be selling signed prints, books, and novelties in the art room.
Let me know if you can't read the article and I'll try to figure something out. :D
Until next time...
