IndieWritersReview interviews me, WillowRaven. Check it out. :D

I don't want to spoil it by copying the interview here, but I do hope you head over to IndieWritersReview to read it.

There are not a lot of samples shown, but you see plenty of those here, like you are about to now ... :D

A complimentary VidFolio focusing on my children's illustration:

Although I included a couple children's illos in my main VidFolio, I soon realized I needed a VidFolio focusing on my children's illustration for when I want to show a prospective client a sampling of my children's work. So, I did my best to make them compliment each other while still portraying an entirely different feel. Now, I'll show both so you can compare the two. :D

A new, moody WillowRaven VidFolio ...

Every few projects, I try to do an updated VidFolio. Sometimes my mood at the time of creating the video determines the look (like whether or not I change basic formats from the previous one), and sometimes the works themselves choose the mood for me. I think this time it's a little of both combined with sleep deprivation. I started this one around 2 am and didn't finish until 5 am ... lol.

I think finding the right music is the hardest part. The second hardest is the timing. The music wouldn't skip a bit until I went to record. But, I think I wore down its resolve and won the battle. All that is left is a slight crackling, which reminds me of how old records sound, which I think is cool.

The important thing, though, is the art and the stories they accompany. Enjoy :D ...

Meet Lilith ... cover art for 'Nemesis':

I loved this project! So much, I couldn't wait until I finished the cover design before showing off the cover art. The book it's for is titled Nemesis, by KG Garyson. The website is still in the works, but will likely go live by the time I finish the design that goes with this work. Check out the description I pulled from the synop:

During sleep, a young soldier struggles with a haunting demoness, who eventually drags him into damnation. The US Army is calling it PTSD; Private Bishop knows it is something far more sinister.

Passionate about his job and equally aroused by the opposite sex, Private Kyle Bishop has been tormented by Lilith—the female demon associated with sex and death during sleep—leading Bishop to attempt suicide to avoid this harlot. After recovery in the mental ward of the post hospital, Kyle’s problems are compounded as a result of his self-medication.

After his near-death experience, Private Bishop’s drinking binge and pill-popping habit catches up to him as he passes out on his bed and is again tormented by Lilith. Once Bishop learns of the demon’s motives, both he and his buddies will be forever changed.

So ... what do ya'll think? I will have signed prints available through my ImageKind gallery, as well as cool products that feature the work in my Zazzle shoppe soon. I'll give ya'll a head's up when they are ready for sale.

The Chocolate Drip is almost ready for tasting ...

Well, the cover file for The Chocolate Drip, by Sabriena Williams, has finally been uploaded. It took a while to get to this point, but those of you familiar with publishing are very aware how delays in editing and planning can take over.

You may notice, if you saw the cover shot when I first completed it, that the final wrap is a bit more intense. I hadn't realized all that brown created a dull cast on everything and when added to the back cover needed some punch to it. So, I dialed up the contrast and like it a lot better.

Once I get more info from the author, and the links for purchase, I will post it here.

More proof that the right book cover is the key to better sales, specifically a WillowRaven book cover.

I love waking up to messages from my website like this:

Amber LaShell has just posted a comment on your page, Sign WillowRaven's Guestbook, and you need to approve it:

Abby Kane Trilogy ... almost
WillowRaven has done 2 covers for me to date, book 2 and book 3 of my Abby Kane Trilogy (Celtic Secrets and Celtic Destiny) and we are working on a re-design of Book 1 (Celtic Magic). I have to say, the covers are so wonderfully beautiful and true to my vision that I often look at them with with stars in my eyes. My modest sales have really begun to grow since releasing the new covers that she created for my books and I could not be more excited to know that people love my covers as much as I do. If you are looking for a very good cover artist that will give you more than what you hoped for... you have found the right place.

4RV Publishing
Of course, every artist loves to hear their cover art and design is liked, especially by the author, but I don't often get verification that the cover actually is doing it's job, which is to bring more lucrative sales than it would have had without my art/design.

Market research statistics report that 70% of all book sales are related to the cover art/design. Yes, regardless of the old adage, people do judge books by their cover

70% ... That's huge!

That market research fact is also why finding the right cover artist is as important as finding a good editor. And yet, I see it over and over ... authors skimping of the costs of publishing by either doing their own cover or going with the lowest rate they can find, regardless of training, experience, qualifications, or quality.

Visit with me via Live Chat
Well, I'll hop off of my soapbox, now ... I have another cover project to finish. If anyone wants to chat about their cover art needs (or book illustration needs), visit with me in my virtual Live Chat office, on my website. If it says I'm off line, no worries, it leaves me a  message with how  to get back to you. ;D
