For this latest book cover project, I spent more time on one detail than on the full composition, lol. The music box. Although you can't see it well, I carefully sculpted the tiny ballerina, her pink tutu and ballet slippers, even the mirror's reflection, all to be barely visible in the scene, lol.
Yeah, I know ... My college buddies teased me and my OCD tendencies, but what to do about it? Besides, it pays the bills ;P
Lily would rather die than continue to live with the memories that haunt her from her abusive childhood and the guilt that imprisons her after her toddler son's death. But her suicide attempt is not successful. Instead of experiencing the freedom she hoped death would bring she finds herself in a psychiatric ward. With the help of her therapist, her psychiatrist and her fellow patients she must decide whether she's going to face the undercurrent of memories and emotions that are destroying her from the inside out or whether she's going to succumb to the undercurrent once again.
